One of my favorite photos!
I’m not certain about the exact identity of this family. It’s possible they are related to my grandfather Atanasio…more investigation needed.

You know, I don’t think of 7 children as too many or rather unusual for old school Mexican families. Maybe that’s because I’ve seen what the family looks like when those kids grow up and have their own families. But in a photo like this, I’m like, “wow, that’s a lot of kids!”
The little girl in the white dress looks like she’s in the middle of a cholo head nod/greeting.
Cindy, actually it looks as if everyone in this photo has a strange expression. Maybe it’s because you used to have to hold still for awhile when your picture was taken. It’s interesting too, that until recently, you rarely saw Mexicans smile in photos.
Love old Mexican fam fotos!
Nice photo!, and yeah you are right I got old family pictures like that and they really didn’t smile in them.
Here’s my favorite black and white photo from my family’s photo album. My grandma was the teacher in the one-room schoolhouse that served the whole pueblo.
