{"id":183,"date":"2008-08-06T00:25:33","date_gmt":"2008-08-06T07:25:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chimatli.org\/blog\/?p=183"},"modified":"2008-08-06T00:36:12","modified_gmt":"2008-08-06T07:36:12","slug":"favorite-video-of-the-week-dungen","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chimatli.org\/blog\/?p=183","title":{"rendered":"Favorite Video of the Week: Dungen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Zvtn0d5AUA8&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/Zvtn0d5AUA8&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><\/p>\n<p>Among the many genres of music I follow,<a href=\"https:\/\/chimatli.org\/blog\/?p=57\"> there&#8217;s a special place in my heart for post-psychedelic music<\/a>.<br \/>\nLast year, I first heard <a href=\"http:\/\/www.allmusicguide.com\/cg\/amg.dll?p=amg&#038;sql=11:jnfwxq9aldje~T0\">Dungen&#8217;s<\/a> <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=AtIYhSmxyqk&#038;feature=related\">Sa Blev Det Bestamt<\/a><\/em> with it&#8217;s surprising nod to Turkish psychedelic rock but I hadn&#8217;t paid much attention to the rest of the album. Lately, I&#8217;ve been giving the album a second listen and I&#8217;ve been blown away by some of the songs, in particular Familj (above). It&#8217;s the keyboard\/organ on this track that&#8217;s pulled me in, plus it kinda reminds me of another favorite group, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Can_(band)\">Can<\/a> (see below). I know everyone thought Caribou&#8217;s foray into psychedelia,<em> Andorra<\/em> was the 2007 record of the year but now I&#8217;m liking Dungen&#8217;s <em>Tio Bitar<\/em> much more. <\/p>\n<p>And for the fun of it, I just found this on youtube, one of my all-time favorite songs ever!<br \/>\n<object width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/FXy9bRGmU0A&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\"><\/param><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/FXy9bRGmU0A&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\"><\/embed><\/object><br \/>\n<strong> Oh Yeah-Can<\/strong> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Among the many genres of music I follow, there&#8217;s a special place in my heart for post-psychedelic music.
